Getting Your Hubpages To A Wider Audience With A Little Decorum
This might sound counter intuitive but hubpages is the beginning of your quest for world domination.
If you really want to improve your finance's, then marketing your hubpages to a wider audience should be your short, mid term and long term goals.
If you are one of my followers, and you are not too bothered about getting a wider audience, then this information may not be much use to you. Thanks for dropping in anyway.
If not:-
You really must get your work out to more people.
By that I mean that, It is all very well to sit in the comfort zone that is hubpages, and bask in the mutual adoration. But, that is not, what you really want to be doing.
We are all in this together. We do make good friends here on hubpages. That doesn't mean that we have to write ourselves into a life of penury, or do this for free.
If we want to make this a viable financial concern, we need to work together.
You need your hub-friends to promote your work and they need you too. You must do the same by sharing their work.
it may sound mercenary but this is a business not kindergarten. If you are publishing for vanity then you don't need this advice. If however, you want to make some money you had better get on board.
Hubpages is fun and it has a great community, but it is a business, and we are the product creators.
I could be wrong but I don't know of any successful business, that produces product and just hopes people will drop in and buy it?
Okay I understand. You and I have made some good friends here, but your aim is to reach a wider audience. To do that you need to do some marketing.
Who knows I could be singing to the choir?

SEO,Titles & Google +
So you have written your hub. You have done your title search and SEO and now everyone who is following you and a few others maybe, have read it and made a comment.
You may have re-edited your hub, as you saw room for improvement. It is time to share it with the world.
If you are unfamiliar with the concepts of SEO and Title issues. The hubs listed below, should help you to understand these ideas.
At the bottom of each hub is a box with links to Facebook, Digg, Reddit, Stumbleupon,Twitter and your followers.
Hubpages put these links there for us to use, To share your work on these social networks. This is an old way of doing things but it still works well.
Google + Meet The Future
Don't forget the Google plus button at the top of the hubpages either. If you haven't got a Google + account yet I would suggest you get one, and pronto.
The big difference on Google+ is that other users actively ask join your 'circles' when they read your content. If they like it. If they don't, they do not join your circles or ask to be in your circles.
You do not have to accept a request to be in your circles, they will still see what you share publicly on Google.
Your circles should contain people that are important to you. So a family circle is private and only viewable by other family members.
You can decide what circles you want. Your readership will still grow without any intervention from you.
So you build a new readership based on the content you have already produced. Your content is 'attracting' and audience, rather than you having to actively market your hubs.
This in my opinion is the way to go. Google spotted this gap in the market and has produced the program G+ that you can use to find your wider audience.
Or more accurately they can find you. This largely depends on those little Google + buttons.
The more people that press those Google + buttons on your hubs the higher your hub is ranked by the Google search algorithm, so putting it in even more peoples views. It is a positive feedback loop.
This is a very clever innovation by Google, as the hub is being ranked by real human 'votes' and not clever manipulation of the search engines.
Remember when you post your new hub, it appears in your followers feeds so you do not have to re-post to them.
Whether you write about knitting or tourist information, about where you live. You need to share it.
While you can wait for organic growth from the search engines, you can give it a little assistance, as mentioned above.
Instead of waiting for months, for the search engines to fully catch on, that your hub is brilliant, as used to be the case.
Using these methods, will speed up the time, that the search engines need, to rank your work higher.
As it is being voted up in real time by real humans. So is considered to be of a higher value.
Careful Placement In Social Networks
Social networks. don't just drop it anywhere. Carefully place it, in an area that it relates to. Use a little finesse!
if you are doing flower arranging drop it into a florists forum or flower arranging site, and leave a comment explaining what your hub is about.
You can do this on as many sites as you like. Just check the sites TOS on placing links.
Most are fine but just check first, you do not want to be seen as a spammer.
Your single hub potentially, could be dropped into countless millions of sites. And it would take years just doing this. So be selective. Go for active sites. i.e.sites that have many active users.
Secondly get the habit of sharing other hubbers work and they will also share your hubs and not just to fellow hubbers.
You need to share other hubbers work to your Facebook groups and other social networks.
Not forgetting Google +. Your friends on these social sites are more likely to read a hub recommended by you.
The same applies to hubbers sharing your work to their networks. Again do not overdo it.
Nobody likes getting a constant stream of hubs whatever the quality. Again be selective and thoughtful about who you share and how often.
Many People Still Use Email?
Put your hubs on your emails that you send, just one hub and targeted. Send hubs to friends that you know will enjoy them and ask them to share them with friends who they think will also enjoy them.
You have something to celebrate and share, you are an active writer, show your friends and ask them to pass it on.
Eventually you may want to leave, some of this type of marketing behind. It is a good place to start and to learn, how to do a little internet marketing.
It is however, the old way of doing things and it does still work. For how much longer is debatable.
When you start to harness the power of Google+, and you have been using it for a few months, you will see your organic growth increasing.
Google + is the future of social networking and organic growth is their stated goal.
For comparisons sake. My organic growth is currently just under 12% of page views in less than 3 months.
I don't know if that is a good or bad growth rate but it proves that it works. I have also picked up several hundred readers too?
For some reason I am very popular in Indonesia? As seen from my Google Analytics. Who knows but it is interesting.
Getting in now on Google+ plus gives you an advantage as you have the opportunity to grow your readership while this social network is still relatively new.
Good luck and remember to earn while you learn. Time is too precious to waste.

Getting Your Hubs Out There
Hubpages gave us a user friendly platform and the opportunity to write. in many cases for the first time in a public forum. We get very positive feedback from each other, we comment and encourage each others development as writers.
If you are serious about getting your message or ideas 'out there'. Then you have to market your hubs. It takes a little more time, but it can very interesting too!
Share your work with a wider audience. Hmm! This may seem daunting at first, and for some, too much of a leap. Give it a try. What have you got to lose?
We have written, so that others would read our ideas and thoughts. Then its simply a matter of magnitude really.
What is the difference between a couple of 100 or 1000's or even millions of readers? If you put these simple ideas into action. You too will be astonished by the number of readers you will get, from all over the world. Just by doing the above.
Your views, are still your views, no matter how many people read them. Publish and have fun.
Your audience may be much wider than you can possible imagine. This simple social marketing puts your hubpages within their sight. And its free!

Wow! What a great informative hub! Thanks for SHARING.
OK. Just clicked the Google+ on several hubs.
Thanks. Interested to observe how things improve.
Top man to talk of sharing, socializing - and be a leading light in that department.
Bookmarking for future study, thanks, and voting up down and sideways.
Thank you so much for clear and concise "to do" list to market our hubs. I'm new to HP and just learning my way around. Your hub is extremely helpful to me--bookmarking. Voted up :)
I have a google + account. But I am not practically doing anything with it
Thanks for sharing
This was very, very helpful. I am still struggling with this marketing thing, just blindly groping my way through the process. I need all the help I can get and I thank you for this information.
Thank you for this very well written and valuable Hub molometer! it has great tips for all of us, not just new writers. have been totally forgetting the Google + thing but you can bet that now I will be doing that.
Shared and Voted UP!
I bookmarked this hub for closer study soon. Thanks for it.
very interesting hub! I wasn't really aware of the power of G+. But one question remained (or maybe I overread it, because I was "absorbing" the hub) what if I have no friends on google+? I just got my google account some days ago, but would G+ work still if I have no contacts or friends?
very interesting and great information. I use Google and Digg and my blogs and think I am using jungo. I think is the name of it.. great advice.
Debbie
Amazing. Very informative. I'm in the process of completing a Hub in the very same topic. Hope I do it justice. I'm voting this Hub UP!
This title is similar to one of my own, and yet you've approached it from a totally different angle. Some excellent help here, and I like how you link to your other useful info within the text. Voting this Up and Interesting. Thanks for SHARING.
Thanks for this hub. I'm new and still learning!
excellent and helpful hub, molometer
Very useful info about marketing your pages...it will help a lot..thanks for SHARING:)
Hey Molometer,
Sorry, had links in my comments, so assumed it was ok.
No worries, just to let you know that it's been shared ... a useful hub for all ;-). Hope you get some traffic from it.
Thanks for all the tips. This is great for newer hubbers like myself.
I think it has gone way too far already. What I don't understand is why people would put so much personal and private information out there. The hackers must be salivating! These two giants are heading for a fall...it may take awhile, but they'll get there. I can't even figure out how to sign up for G+ and am not sure I want to!
I agree that our work needs to go beyond the hubpages readership. However, I don't trust Facebook and Twitter and have terminated my accounts there. I looked into Google+ and it seemed they weren't ready yet for new members. It can be very frustrating, but I will try to do more. For me, it's all about having my voice heard. The money is icing on the cake. We'll see what develops. I have much to learn, that's for sure. Thanks for the great tips. Voted up and useful.
For most of us writing can be rather easy exercise, and marketing kind of climbing the Everest. To get high traffic we need to write rich content, search friendly title, keywords and SEO. Sharing on social media is also helpful.
Thanks for sharing your expertise.
This hub was sensational, @ Molometer you are definitely my favorite hubber of all. I mean this sincerely, and have something in the works for ya, to express my true appreciation of your assistance to us all on hubpages.
This hub deserves more than a single comment I can give it, and hopefully your hub will get known as well as used by everyone who needs such useful info as this. Marketing on the web is difficult, but with the right tools, and knowledge behind them, as you said it here, the sharing makes all the difference.
I wish you the best of successes and know things are only going to get better from this point onward, for us all, because people like you are here to help us, & without regards to any selfish acts what-so-ever. Voted up in every way I can, getting shared immediately.
You know it is so nice to read something like this and be able to understand everything.
Thank you for writing this in simple plain English. I usually finish up getting confused and give it up
First, our dear molometer, thanks very very much for this write-up. I'm still struggling with my James Joyce piece, so it may not be out until late February! You are very correct in stating this is a business in many respects for a good amount of contributors. When I do come across an article I like, I post it on my facebook page or e-mail it to friends. Sometimes when I read some of the pieces, I wonder how many people do actually know it's a place for articles that are well presented such as this one. Some people think this is a blogging site and nothing more. Those of us who work hard at what is contributed know with patience and LOTS of hard work, it can become something viable. Thanks very much for the marketing reminder, including the information you share concerning Google+. I agree that social networking has a very strong following and it has a lot of powerful effects as well. Thumbs high on the tutorial and reminder.
Hi Michael ~ You hit it on the mark with this hub. Many people need this information about getting their Hubs out their to a wider audience. Even though I have that Google profile, I don't utilize it, since I already get so much email, don't think I can handle any more and it means getting involved in another social network. Take care, Debby
Very good hub, I'm coming back for sure.
Kay
Just wanted to pop back and see how this hub was doing, as it is crammed with good advice. Up to 96!! Impressive, if that you best hub?
SOCIALLY SHARING, as most can benefit from at least a couple of these points.
In our time publishing our work has been easy with so many niche content sites like hubpages. However, marketing our articles has become very hard because the competition has become very tough. Thanks for sharing your ideas.
I absolutely love G+ and I think you are right on the money when you say now is the time to join. I've been on G+ for about a month and I love it. I predict it will be the next Facebook. Thank you for sharing your insight and very informative Hub. Voted up, useful, and shared.
Molometer, I thank you for the information, I will probably check into Google +, even though I do not have a lot of contacts as intermediaries for its use. I will let you know....
I've never thought that Google+ might be so useful. After reading this hub, I'll give it a second thought. Maybe it's because not many people I know are using it. Most of my friends are in Facebook.
Excellent discussion. Google + is making its mark in the social network world and more and more business people are joining. I also agree that it is important to choose the right social network to join and post your articles.
Thank you! I will book mark this and come back to it again and again! Voted up!
Molometer, I haven't looked into my Google +, and now I will. Thanks for such a helpful hub. Voted up.
You really do help me work smarter not harder. Once I understand where to go and how to work the social site I can usually get into a rythym which helps speed things up.
Thanks for such clear explanations. I'm off to see what I can do to arrange my circles!
Thanks for sharing!
This is a great hub. I never knew about Google+. I'm signing up now and hopefully will understand it somewhat. About the social networking....do you mean we can drop a link to someone's hub directly into the place to post on a facebook page? You gave the example of a florist's page, for instance, if a hub we liked was about flowers. I kind of thought we'd get in trouble if we did that?
Thanks, Molometer for these tips. I need more help with all this, you "planted a seed." I always get my kids to help me go more in depth with the ideas you all give me concerning the marketing part of HubPages!
Great hub Molometer! That is one thing that really stands out to me here is that everyone is so supportive! Thanks for SHARING! :) Voted this up and useful!
This Hub has been like a bucket of cold water tossed over my head after a long, hot ride. REJUVENATING! Thanks molometer for refreshing what I all ready know and bringing it back to prominence in my marketing strategies.
Thanks for your help molometer. One more question: is the google + button the one on top on the upper right that just has a plus sign on it? Not sure :-0 I just scrolled up and looked to make sure. Is it the button with the + on it?
Molometer-I have to admit that I use the buttons at the bottom of my hubs but not the google one. Is the google button the one with the + sign on it at the top? Do I just hit this after I publish a hub? Also, can you hit the google button everyday for hubs or just once. I also noticed the other day that when I hit the share with followers button that a message popped up that said it wasn't a good idea to do this. I assumed it meant that only readers can hit that button for other writers. There are so many nuances' on hubpages that it gets confusing.
Thank you molometer--I was wondering what to do with Google +--I have an account but have done nothing with it--Thank you for a great hub!!
This is another great hub, molometer! I wish I had more time to do all the things that need to be done, and even more to do all the things I want to do. But you have driven home yet again the necessity of doing this, and how important it is. Thanks so much for SHARING your thoughts in this area!
Molometer I would like to meet you some day, Great Hub once again. Social media is a good source of marketing and its free as well but its not easy to have audience on your profile either on Facebook or twitter.
Sad news for Thanks for SHARING club as HubPages have unpublished that hub.
I had positive impact on my hubs but its gone, any how Thanks for SHARING.
Very well written and informative article with many helpful ideas. I like your positive and supportive attitude. Voted up and useful as well as bookmarked for later reference...
Thanks for this molometer. Very helpful for someone like me; been writing for years, but still struggling with the SEO aspects. Without which, as you say, Hubs are simply an exchange of pleasantries with like-minded individuals.. I will try to implement these steps (along with others of yours I've previously bookmarked).
Thanks again.
after writing a good hub,it depends on our promotion skill to increase our hub traffic.seo and social networking sites are also helpful in promoting hub traffic.very nice informative hub molometer
Another useful article. I will be bookmarking this one too as it will help me in the near future.
This is definitely information that a lot of Hubbers can use. And remember, if you have two hubs on the same topic you can promote one within the other as well. Thanks for SHARING.
I have a google+ account but i haven't as yet used this button. Your hub made me realise the importance of using this button . I hope they work for me. Thanks for this super tip along with the other tips.
Thanks for SHARING this wonderful hub.
Voted up and shared too.
A great hub which was easy to read and understand. Most of the marketing strategy articles I have read have been over my head as I am new to all of this. I use twitter and facebook already. I never really understood Google +, but after reading this I will definitely be looking into getting an account. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and tips. Voted up and useful/interesting.
This is one of the most informative hubs on this subject that I've ever read. I am at this moment printing it out to study it further. SHARING! I voted it up, useful, awesome, interesting. Really, really Good!
This is interesting to me even though i am not a paid writer, i still enjoy people coming to read my poerty/stories. Thank you for sharing info..
Thanks for the Hub, it explains things a lot better to me, I have been getting friends in my Google circle, and did not know what it meant. Great hub
What made the situation extra odd is that the hub you shared was one that is a great help for HP people. It's not like he asked to stop being informed about political hubs.
WOW, what a hub, you could have made a series out of that! lol ...
Great advice though. Even those here for fun are normally happy to make some extra cash, and for that you need traffic.
Thanks for SHARING.
I don't have any family members on google+. I only joined to advertise my writing. I only returned to Facebook to advertise writing. Of course, I have to make comments in general or I annoy people on FB. And I generally only post entertainment and poetry hubs there. I do not post my economy hubs there as they don't interest my friends.
But I am not interested in FB for social reasons. I prefer the telephone when I live near the person.
One of the reasons why my parents joined this site is so that I don't have to email them when I publish something. HP does it for me.
I have emailed other people's work to people before. I feel odd emailing my friends with my work when the hubs are not on my cat or music. No point. and I would be just annoying them otherwise.
Hi, molometer this hub is really useful and interesting. You are really generous by sharing all this information. I just started out and am just finding my footing. This is a great help to me. Thankyou for sharing. Voted up.
Another great and helpful hub from you! You are sharing some very important information here. I want to make sure I am registered for google+ I have an account with them. I could not see a google+ on the upper right hand corner of my hubpage articles. What am I missing? Thanks. VC
Hi molometer,
You are so great with sharing your traffic knowledge, and I do hope it works for everyone. I just recently started trying to obtain traffic, as I realized it was not going to happen without my help. I voted up and useful.
Thanks again,
Bobbi
Michael,
This has excellent tips. Thank you!
I have business cards with which websites I write for listed on them. They've been a useful and inexepensive way for people to get in touch with me for various projects I've been working on, and in the last several weeks, people have been getting in touch with me to request I do interviews for articles on individuals or groups that interest them.
I'm bookmarking this one, and plan to share it as well.
Excellent job!
femme
Great article, thank you for the information. Vote up.
Great stuff here...you remind us of the importance of tying it all together. I will book mark this and vote it up! You are right, we all in this together!
Thank you for writing this great Hub. Voted up.
As always you thoroughly explain the genetic make up of how it should be done. I like to bookmark your informative hubs as this one, then go back to my hubs, with many ah ha moments. Social anything is hard for myself but I am sure for the majority this will fall right into place.

Well thank you so much Thelma Alberts,
It is all about the SHARING, that's the way we work.
