Pasta Sauce In Ten Minutes By Sheridan

Sheridan is my wife's cousin, if you were wondering and she is an exceptional woman indeed. She is like master chef. Amongst many other amazing attributes. Today we are focusing on her culinary skill in one fantastic dish. And it's super fast too.

Throw her some odd ingredients and she will make something in no time flat. And it will taste fantastic.

This is her 10 minute pasta dish.

Ingredients.

Feeds 4 or 3 very hungry people.

8 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

500g (i lb) pack of Spaghetti or pasta of your choice.

2 tins or (1/2 lb fresh) Ripe plum tomatoes

3 cloves of Garlic

3 Chillies

Method

Fresh Basil or dried oregano or any fragrant herb marjoram etc

Salt & Black Pepper to taste.

Put a large saucepan 3/4 filled with lightly salted water on to boil, on the back burner gas or electric.

Put a large frying pan on the burner on a medium heat and throw in 3 table spoons of extra virgin olive oil.

Chop 3 cloves of garlic and throw them in the oil.(adjust garlic to taste)

Chop up 3 chillies and throw them in the frying pan too (adjust chillies to taste)

Chop the ripe (the riper the better and cheaper) Italian plum tomatoes and when the garlic has softened and become translucent add the tomatoes.

Cook sauce on a simmering heat until the pasta is cooked.

When the water boils throw in the pasta. Fresh pasta or 5 minute fast cooking pasta.

When the pasta is cooked, drain and return to large saucepan. Pour in a good glob of olive oil and stir the pasta to coat it fully with the oil.

Finally throw in some fresh chopped basil or oregano into the tomato sauce and cook for 20 seconds then pour the whole thing on top of the pasta and stir it around so it is all coated.

Grate some Parmesan cheese and serve immediately. Start to finish 10 minutes. Try It and see. I tastes divine and fills a hungry hoards bellies.

The question 'I don't know what to eat. what do you fancy' Solved?

Quick meals in 10 minutes. The pasta fasta and how I learned to cook it from Sheridan.

What can we say about water. Well without it we would die in about 3 days. We can survive without food for weeks even months but water is essential for life.

Hi jenubouka,

I couldn't agree more. Even if we live in an apartment we could grow some tomatoes and chillies indoors. Home grown is always better in my experience.

molometer 3 months ago

Hello Au fait,

After I wrote this hub. I went straight into the kitchen and made it ha ha and it was great.

Have a great meal and think of us in grey Britain lol

Hi My Minds Eye53,

It is funny how our tastes change over time. I never ate mushrooms until I was in my 20's?

Garlic I love but it has it's drawbacks romantically lol unless you both eat it.

molometer 3 months ago

Hi workwithnature

You are right. Nothing tastes as good as fresh food from our own gardens.Fresh tomatoes and chillies yum!

I love growing my own stuff when I get the chance.

jenubouka 3 months ago

The best sauces are made with fresh ingredients with out much fuss like this awesome pasta sauce. If you have garden ripe tomatoes and fresh garlic and basil this sauce will be a staple this summer. Heck one should plant around these ingredients they are that great.

Au fait 3 months ago

This recipe has my mouth watering already! I might skip the chilies, but otherwise it looks delicious. Sauce from fresh tomatoes and herbs is the best!

Voting you UP, and useful. Too bad they don't have a scrumpdillyicious option!

breakfastpop 3 months ago

I love a quick and easy homemade pasta sauce. It beats the jars by a mile.

Ten minute pasta for me and Peps tonight!

I LOVE PASTA!

My Minds Eye53 3 months ago

I would not make a very good Italian, I cannot stand to eat or even smell garlic. I can take it in very small doses, but over all, I avoid it.

But otherwise it sound yummy.

workwithnature 3 months ago

Yummy, There is always more to learn. Hey thanks :)That reminds me, there is nothing like going out to your garden, to pick some nice veggies. This seems to make any dish extraordinary :)

molometer 3 months ago

@truthfornow My name is Michael. I am a chilli addict.lol

@Kris Heeter There are some very mild chillies out there. Just remove the seeds. Many of them have no heat at all. If they do not make me cry I don't want them ha ha.

@prasetio30 We have been talking about it all day and finally actually went and cooked it. It was fantastic. Why not surprise you mum and cook it for her. It is so easy. Let me know if you can do it!

molometer 3 months ago

Hi PWalker281,

you can use canned, tinned or any tomatoes as long as they are ripe. How about growing some Roma tomatoes in Hawaii, they would grow in no time at all.

Roma have the best flavour.

prasetio30 3 months ago

I loooooove this recipe, especially for healthy ingredients inside this pasta sauce. I believe that my mom also love this and want to make this pasta sauce for dinner. Hmm.....yummy. Rated up and delicious.

Kris Heeter 3 months ago

Sounds like an easy dish. Just wish chillies didn't make me cry - seriously! Maybe I can find some mild ones!?!

truthfornow 3 months ago

Like the idea of the added flavor of the chillies. Who knew it was so easy to make your own sauce?

PWalker281 3 months ago

Tasty AND healthy. Sounds like something even I (just call me "microwave Patty") can make. Hope I can find the right tomatoes. Something tells me the plum tomatoes are going to be expensive here in Hawaii - everything's imported. Maybe I'll substitute some locally grown tomatoes. We'll see.

Thanks for sharing Sheridan's recipe. Rated up and useful!

molometer 3 months ago

We have been talking about it all day. Guess what we had for supper. Sheridan's ten minute pasta lol and it was spectacular.

The depth of flavour is hard to describe in such a short time. You really must give it a whirl.

phdast7 3 months ago

Michael -

Sounds good, and so quick. Sometimes simple really is the best.

Hello thesingernurse,

It is one of those dishes that is so easy to do that, I may have it a couple of times a week.

Then I forget about it for a while, and when I have it again, Mama Mia!

It is just stunning and so simple. We both love to cook which is handy too lol

PS I'll dig out some more recipes for your partner to cook.

thesingernurse 3 months ago

My fiancee loves using Basil in every pasta he cooks for me (yes, I don't cook! hahaha!). Thank you for sharing this. I would let him read this hub so we can try it out ourselves!
