Webanswers. A Money Making Guide On How To Get Paid Writing New Answers And Answering Questions.
92Money Making Guide To Webanswers
Where Did This Woman Live?
How To Get Paid On Webanswers.com
Getting into the guts of the Web with webanswers.com.
The good news is... it work's. This is the 7 month update to my hub pages as promised and I can confirm that webanswers does indeed work.
For those of you who want to know, whether you can, make money writing new answers at webanswers.com; and, is it worthwhile financially, signing up for this thing.
I can now say, as I have been their long enough to comment. It is a legitimate business.
It does work and the earning potential depends on 'you'. Your amount of engagement on the site. More input, more money, that simple.
Is it a top money makers on the internet for this type of activity? It's too early to say, I really have not given it as much effort and time as I should.
I just wanted to prove it worked first. It does. Each of us should give it the effort we feel we wish to put in.
This money making guide, along with the extensive comments section from other hubbers. Cover just about everything you need to know, about how to answer questions to how to get paid on webanswers.
To begin. Sign up with webanswers. The referral link is on this page.
When answering questions on webanswers.com, try to make sure that your answer is over 100 words in length.
I have read on the tutorials that you are paid according to the quality and the depth of the answer. You can also add a photo. Make sure it is copyright free. And attribute the source of the photo.
The sites income is generated by advertisements, alongside the answer that we supply.
We share this revenue with webanswers.
100 Words Makes Sense
The 100 words apparently has an influence on the ranking, given to the answer by web crawlers. (programs that search the internet for Google & Bing, and add your answer to their index pages etc)
You are paid per line.
Currently my answers are averaging slightly over $26.00 PPC. Remember this is based on the mille idea or per 1000 clicks.
These rates vary according to webanswers mysterious ranking algorithm that no-one knows anything about.
I have answered just over 200 questions with answers varying in length from 5 words up to a maximum of 100 words (at most I have answered 10 questions with 100 words) and made £6.50 for November 2011.
I haven't answered a question on webanswers for about 5 weeks now, and I still made £8.40 for December 2012. So it is profitable considering I have done very little work.
I was paid on a ratio of £54 per 1000 hits So it work's. Even when I am not actively working on the webanswers site. I am still earning. You do however have to do a bit every now and then other wise your earnings can drop dramatically.
Now if I were to answer 2,000 questions I can imagine that earnings potential will increase exponentially. There is only one way to find out. Do it. So I am doing it. Slowly but surely.

How To Get Paid. Keep At It
I have deliberately not been on the webanswers site, as I wanted to test if we still earn with little or no engagement with the site. It does.(Dec 2012)
Unfortunately I am now answering just one or two answers per week. I have other more pressing demands on my time. (March 2012)
The evidence as far as I can tell; is that once you have put your answers on their site. Whether you engage with the site or not. is up to you. It is really that simple. I have been told that if you engage with the site you may make more money? I cannot confirm or deny that claim.
What I can say also, is that it is an experience, worth at least a visit and looking into.
And you get to contribute to the fundamental DNA of the internet. The answers eventually turn up on the search engines.
These are some questions that I have answered and been awarded.
Question on Infra Red Astronomy. Question on Hair Loss In Men
These two answers alone show the diversity of questions you may encounter and chose to ignore or answer. Your answers could potentially live forever in cyberspace. OK enough with the hard sell.
Stay with me now it's gonna get a little repetitive for a minute. I will be as quick as I can.
Quick setup:-
Basically you go to webanswers.com and create a profile. Simple. It has been in Beta since it's inception many years ago. The interface is very simple; you have to ask questions and you have to answer questions. You get paid for both. But you get paid more for answers and long term. So by all means ask questions but focus on the answers.
You will see that other people may have answered the question but that doesn't mean that you cannot answer the same question. You can view their answers. If you think you have a better answer then go for it and submit your answer.
The questions that have been answered are then judged by the person who asked the question and awarded to who they think answered the question best. (take a deep breath)
Being awarded a question that you answered, means that you will get a bigger share of the advertising revenue, from that answer forever (doubtful, don't hold your breath)
So How Do I Earn?
The answers are eventually displayed on sites all over the internet and whatever ads are shown alongside your answer at that time you will receive a percentage of the revenue. Right so you are signed in and the screen is there. Hey what about, how to get paid?
You have to answer 50 questions first
After 50 answers, a new tab appears in your profile where you just click and it links to your Google adsense account (if you have one) or creates a Google adsense account for you if you don't.?
Sometimes this can take a few days or even weeks. Webanswers say that.
The 50 question rule was introduced to deter time wasters.
Just fill in your usual details. It is a secure site so no worries there. So here we are, 50 questions to answer. It did seem a little daunting but I just jumped into it and pretty soon I had answered 10 questions. Then they just started flowing and before I knew it I had done the 50 initial questions.
Now I just drop in every now and again. I answer a few questions. There is no time limit on any of this work.

Answers To Avoid
It pays to be selective in what you answer. Consider a few other things before wasting your time on a question. This is my opinion, you can of course answer whatever questions you like. If you want to know, how to get paid then follow these simple rules.
These answers are being created and are used by search engines, so misspelled or poor grammar will not be used, I assume.
(1) Don't answer questions that are misspelled.
(2) Some questions may be years old, you can still answer them and earn from these.
(3) Don't answer questions with poor grammar.
(4) Watch out for web bot questions. (you still get paid for these)
Sometimes the system generates it's own questions.
These are usually on a theme i.e. variations on how to get pregnant and what to do if you are and don't want to be (phew!) You still get paid for answering them.
(5) Don't answer questions that are ambiguous.
(these answers are based on value judgements that you may not share, so you will rarely be awarded them)
Whether you are awarded answers or not, you will still earn money. The awarded answers do earn more money as a percentage.

You will have to carry on working, and do this type of project as and when you have time.

They have never ONCE emailed me back. Webanswers doesn't seem to care about you until you GET approved . From what the support pages say only the ones who have been on there for years get replies. And "support" is somewhat of a joke. They know nothing of the way Google works or how they accept anyone and they I am just a peon to them now. Yet "support" sits and speculates on HOW you get accepted when NONE of them really know. They all like to pretend they have inside knowledge when none of them know crap. If they did I would know what adsense wants to get accepted. You wont find exact answers just vague speculation.
What TOTALLY disheartens me is some guy just said in an answer that he got accepted , and he signed up AFTER me. His answers are awful --very short two lines, very vanilla and plain. AND his last answer doesn't even answer the question. I am beginning to think it is not what you answer but WHO you know to get on there.
I have over 100 high quality , decent length posts and many awarded answers with an invitation from Webanswers to apply to adsense. I did that. It has been nearly 3 weeks with NO word in my email from Adsense.
It STILL says that my account is under review on my account page. I am about to give up posting on Webanswers. I'm down to two to four posts a day since I'm now VERY discouraged.
I really don't want to put any more time into it if I'm not going to get accepted by Adsense.
Great hub! I need extra cash, so I am going to give this website a shot! Thanks for the advise :)
Molometer, Your hub gave me hope. I have been on webanswers about a month. I didn't know about the 100 words. I have answered 100 questions but only a few are very lengthy. I haven't started earning any money yet. I have only been awarded 3 answers though, so far. I guess it just takes time. I appreciate your tips. I am going to read the other hub you suggested and more of yours. Great writing. Voted up and useful and will be following.
Take care,
Lisa
Thank you for writing this informative hub.
It's good to know what is actually worth trying as there are so many sites that end up being a huge waste of time.
Indeed, Hubpages is a helpful family and community. You are a living proof to that! And I am very pleased to be part of your wonderful network. Not everyone is generous enough to share these types of valuable information about opportunities on earning extra bucks on the side. Thank you very much my friend. Will be checking on the site ASAP. Rest assured that this is another breakthrough stint worth the try. :D
Voting up and sharing!
Hi Molometer,
I'll add webasnwers to my favourites and when I get the time I'll definitely try it out. Currently I'm studying at University, hubpages, and playing sports outside my studies - I'm afraid I won't be able to commit to it just yet.
How much time do you recommend to spend on this website if you want to make an extra 10-20 a month?
Molometer, this is another interesting way to earn. I applied today. They say they will get back in 48 hours.
Very useful hub. Voted up.
Thanks for sharing this information. I'm following you along on your hubs, because the technical aspects of writing on line are definitely my learning curve.
This is the first that I have heard regarding this site--it is great to know that you have had a good experience there. Thank you for sharing this information with us all.
I have been a individual of this web page for a few many months and I really like it but I reaction all issues such as spiders and old ones. Why would you not want to reaction those questions? Most income that people generate are from non provided alternatives.
This is the first I've heard of "webanswers". I'll check it out and let you know what I think! Thank you for sharing with us.
Another great article. Thanks Michael
Check the various affiliate programs as well. They work well, look at click bank.
Hi Molometer. Thanks for a great Hub bringing attention to this op. I checked out WebAnswers and their privacy policy, and I'm curious to know whether you get flooded with marketing emails? Up & interesting.
V. interesting. Must take a look.
Great info! I'll check it out. Thanks for sharing this hub!
I am going to go check this opportunity out. I had seen the name WebAnswers bandied about but I just hadn't taken the time to look into it. Thanks for a thorough and detailed Hub on the subject! - Sarah
I'm always on the lookout for additional web moneymaking opportunities. This is new to me so thanks for pointing it out. Voting this Up and Useful and SHARED.
Voted up.
Thanks for the tip here, mate.
Now off to get "rich"!
Extremely informative and useful, full of very good advice for anyone considering this website.
I can confirm that you do continue to earn when you are not active on the site, so long as you put in a lot of effort first. However, your earnings will often decreased dramatically. Then when you start again, they will pick up to where they were quite quickly.
At the moment I don't answer more than five questions per day, I am still pulling in around $40 per month stop when I do put in lots of effort, I tend to get between two and five dollars per day. However, I will try your 100 words tip ;-).
Voted up, awesome, and socially SHARING.
Hi Molometer,
Pleased to read that you are making money there too. I've made money almost everyday for about 6 months now, I'm really glad I joined!
Thanks for SHARING, this has expanded a lot since I first read it.
Hey I am on webanswers too. I love it! You brought out some key points that I need to remember llike 100 word answers. I don't like to write novels for something simple. I can answer a question in two sentences. I will definitely take your advice.
Thank you so much! I will read it.
Maybe after I get the Hub Pages down pat. I don't overwhelm myself too quickly.
This is a very interesting article and something I might look into in the near future.
Interesting hub about webanswers. I enjoy talking with others and providing my opinion on specific subjects and so will check out the website and see if I can make money too on webanswers.
Happy New Year and thanks for this great info - I will have to give it a try in 2012!!!
Awesome to find out about this, I had a mild addiction to yahoo answers for a while, I cured it by stopping going on there, the knowledge that there is something like it that I can make money from is great!
I'm going to sign up now.
Thank you, molometer. I look forward to some answers from webanswers. If they would want to know precisely what they said in their mail, here it is: "After reviewing your account we have decided that we are unable to enroll you into WebAnswers at this time.
Please do not create any additional accounts. All subsequent attempts will be blocked and removed from the platform.
Thanks for your understanding."
molometer. thank you for writing this great hub. Voted up.
A gem of a Hub. Bookmarked. Voted up. And Useful.
So glad to have you, and your knowledge,
and your very well put together,
easy to follow,
nicely written words - in my life.
Thanks
This is worth checking into. Thanks for all the tips.
Wow on this hub. Very, very informatve and put together in a concise manner. Thanks for all the information. Thumbs up.
Hi molometer,
Sadly, my webanswers account is rejected, as was my google adsense account. The reason given for rejection of google adsense account is insufficient material. So I'm building my hubpages and hope to reapply for google adsense after there's enough material. I am wondering if I could reapply to webanswers, later? I don't expect you you have all the answers, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Most definitely! :)
Thanks Molometer :).
Ah okay. Thanks again for the information.
Thanks for the information. I was not aware that there was a word minimum for 100 words, but I will do my best to answer questions that need a detailed explanation. Thanks again!
Hi Molometer.
Thanks for the information. After reading your hub, I went to webanswers and before I knew it, had answered 10 questions. This doesn't seem too difficult, but I wonder how it will pay off once I start answering or asking enough questions?
Oh, about the speech to text software, which did you use? Have you done extra training? (I read a story that took about 30mins) Are you speaking in a neutral tone?
As I now find that I can almost speak at full speed. The program won't show all the words, but is processing them (storing in memory temporarily), and then catches up as soon as you pause for the next sentence/paragraph.
Hey Molometer,
I have to agree. Compared to what I earn here (at least for now), I get at 10-20 times that from Webanswers. Mind you, I find it easier to answer questions than to think of interesting hubs to write, so the amount of content is probably not comparable either. I'm at about 1900 answers now, so nearing the 2000 as I expected for December.
Oh, with awarded answers, sometimes questions get banned, edited or re-awarded (yes, it does happen) ... which can also affect the amount of awards. Personally I don't worry, as I earn jack all from awarded questions and lots from unawarded answers/questions.
Hey Molometer,
Saw you crossed the 200 mark, that was when I started to see more regular clicks. How are you finding it? Did you set up a custom URL for Hubpages and Webanswers so that you can follow your earnings?
Thanks for the explanation about how it works, and your hub has saved me a lot of wasted time. It is really sad to see the number of people who needed legal advice in my field of expertise. It seems that they are trying to get something for nothing, and they wouldn't even know what is good legal advice even if it hits them in the face because sometimes the truth is hard to stomach. That is why so many people are duped by schemers who promise solutions and cheap way out. Or, the blind is leading the blind. It is good to know that I'll be glad to just stay here and stay away from that kind of forum because if you truly need professional advice, I surely doubt you can get it on the internet, unless you are on a legal forum, and legal professional eventually want you to visit their office.
I was glad to read this - although I am on webanswers, I have earned hardly anything. Now I am trying to use some of your strategies! Thank you for sharing this!
I FINALLY have google adsense on Webanswers! Whoooo hooo! YES!
Oh, maybe you could write a hub on how you got so many followers instead? You have an amazing amount for being here only 2 months ... I'm still trying to break the 200 followers level after a year ...I'm sure you have some interesting tips!!
Thank you for the link to my hub "How to Make Money with Webanswers.com - Part 1" - MUCH appreciated.
I hope that it helps your readers make more money there! I'm getting about $50 monthly already for very little work, however I expect that to increase a lot as I break the 2000 answers barrier :-) and we move into the shopping months of December and January.
Hey,
Thanks for the information here. This is really interesting. I have been looking for more online opportunities like this and will be sure to check this out. Thanks again!
Will do!
Yes - I'm glad to know - thanks! Regardless, it was a fun hour that I spent yesterday answering questions. Hope to do more over the holiday. :-)
Wow! Do I win a t-shirt for being the hundredth comment? :-)
Thanks for the helpful information & advice!
Incidentally, I don't know whether this is useful at all, or matters at all, but I got this message when I confirmed my email address on Webanswers:
"Receive 50 awarded answers and start earning money - Once you earn 50 official awards (which means the person who asked the question selected your answer as the best answer) your account status will move to beginner level. Once you reach this level, you will be able to earn ongoing advertising revenues from all of your awarded threads."
Thanks for both the welcome and the follow, Molometer. I've enjoyed reading your smart, humorous, and informative hubs, and look forward to reading more of what you have to share! I also plan to sign up for Webanswers (thanks very much for that tip!).
Great post. A lot of good advise. I just signed up for webanswers.
Well I have answered 50 questions, but only earned 2 awards. Oh will have to check the page to see how well other folks are doing. See ya around the hub. : )
molometer, I am loving webanswers cant wait to see how the earning go.
Webanswers rejected my profile. :( I have no idea why... Kind of disappointing
I never heard such a site existed, I have tried many online websites to get some extra $$ for the family income, even with the hub pages, it seems at first so hard to get the first $20.00 so Sure I will give it a try and I do thank you for that.
Going to check it out right now.
All signed up! I think it is a really a neat way to earn, and it is kind of fun. Thanks again.
Molometer you are way outta-sight with this hub. BTW thats a good thing. I am going to try the webanswers. Always love reading about a site were there is some earning potenial. (Who doesnt) So happy to have you here as part of the HP community. You rock! Voted up!
Good evening Michael.
Just to let you know i'm now up to 43 so have just 7 to go then i start earning.
I've just seen homesteadbound over there so your hub is working. For me it means a bit less time on HP but that's how things go.
Take care Michael and have a good evening.
LOL Ghaelach (Jimmy)
Molometer, thanks for the info. I never knew about the questions. How does that work?
Unfortunately for me WebAnswers has been a very poor time investment.
I came by this time to read the comments! You have been busy with the comments here! WOW! I am glad that I did though because it answered alot of questions for me. I think I will check this out this weekend. It looks even more interesting that it did. It seems you have done a good job at generating competition for yourself over there with this hub! Maybe I'll see you there! Thanks so much again for the great information.
Hi again Michael.
Well i went over to WebAnswers and signed up. Already answered 8 questions, so we'll see how it goes.
Thanks a mill.
LOL Ghaelach
Hi malometer interesting hub topic & well presented, I will be looking into your findings so thanks for sharing. A thumbs up & a top vote from me, bookmarked also.
Regards Dale
Hey great hub! And congrats on the nomination. I am signed up for this and I just remembered I was after I read this, your information was spot on and it inspired me to go back and give it a whirl.
Morning Molometer.
Great hub with very interesting info. I've heard of this site but after reading your hub will be popping over and see what's what.
Your hub is over three weeks old so i'm glad we have HP news letter because i'd have never seen your hub other wise and i'll be dropping by your page in a while to have a little nosey.
Take care and have a nice day.
LOL Ghaelach
molometer, what a great hub! I will be checking this out, and I'm bookmarking it also. I'm looking forward to reading your updates. Good luck!
Hey,
lol .. Great British Pounds (guess it should be capitals really, as in GBP). I put that as many on here and on Webanswers deal only in US dollars.
They are a good bunch over there, but are also very protective of the site. A lot of lazy writers join and internet marketers spam the place, so they are pretty quick to report issues. However, this also leads to more earnings for everyone that puts a bit of effort in! :-)
Hi Molometer. This sounds interesting to me and I will check it out. Thanks for the information.
Hi Molometer,
Thanks for the great information and comments here. I look forward to checking this out.
Sharyn
Hey,
No worries, just didn't want you to get a ban, as it has happened before. Yea, I tend to post about 5-40 answers a day. I aim for 10 per day, but don't always reach it. Last month was great, my earnings were 27gbp after only a few months there. I hope to get that to 50gbp per month over the next 6 months, but will see what life throws at me along the way lol.
Glad you realized in time. I think I made one post at the start too and QUICKLY got told a clear NO!
Just a word of warning; Be careful with your back-links. You are allowed to put 'promotional links' for you blog, Hubpages account and websites in your profile page, but not in questions or answers.
If you want people to check out more info, you can mention you have written about it and say that the link is on your profile page.
I just thought that I should mention this, as users have been banned after a lot of hard work, just because they hadn't seen that in the T&Cs and had been putting links in answers.
Other than that, it is an amazing site for earning, so long as you follow the rules. I got my Google check last month after just a few months on there!
Good luck everyone, see you over there.
I break all the rules! I answer old questions and bot questions. I even answer some questions with terrible spelling. It is just how I roll. :-) I am sure that is why others make more money per day than I do, but whatever. Voted up and awesome!
Voted up and voted for the hub nugget award! Good luck!!
Congratulations on your nomination. Thanks for pointing out both pros and cons.
I'd started an account there and had answered several questions......and then missed a week or so, and when I tried to log in there was no record of an account by that name, email address, etc, etc, etc.
I can only assume that I got banned for some reason or another - I'd imagine that my personal advice would never always fall in line with "societal wisdoms and convention" .....but hey, whatever. LOL!
Hi molometer - I've been slowly working my way through the the webanswer ranks - keyword slowly. I'm trying to at least answer 3 to 5 a day. In fact - I'm not sure, but I may have even signed up through your link - unsure. It was through a hubber though.
You have provided great information and useful tips in this hub. I'm going to bookmark this as a reference. Thank you for the "just for fun" video at the end - that is one of my favorites.
Congratulations on your HubNugget nomination - best of luck
Never thought that there are website such as Webanswers! Thank you for the suggestion. Checking it now
BTW - please do NOT believe everything you Read on here about online marketing, SEO & the like.
As a 20 year veteran (yes, BEfore WINdows) - I can totally tell you with utmost confidence that 98% of what you read about it is crap, crap, crap.
Best regards, Melanie
Hi - you asked me about hub profiles and that many are very long and were you *missing something* and as I cannot find a manner to simply reply to you - I am just replying here.
I suppose that your profile page should contain some keywords on the things you write about - especially if you want your pages to be SE friendly.
If that doesn't matter to you then I would say no - it doesn't matter how long your profile is.
That's all really.
Best regards, Melanie
Hi Molometer,
Thanks for your update and comments. Seems like your hub is proving pretty popular. I'm loving the interaction on Webanswers, but won't give up Hubpages. I see them as being complementary to each other, except that so far (for me) Webanswers is paying far more in a fraction of the time. However, I hope as my hubs increase, that my natural search engine views will increase on Hubpages too. Someone once told me you need a year and 80+ Hubs to really start earning here ... so long as you market too.
Always up for a new question! Thanks for the great tip:)
Yes I get it now, thanks for a very detailed answer! Good hub!
What does "web bot questions" mean? I`m not sure I understand. Could you please clarify it a little? :)
Hi Molometer,
You are right, it does take time to build up, but not too long. I started off slow, just answering 5 question everyday. The main reason I did this was so I wouldn't 'burn out' too fast.
I am now answering 10+ questions a day, as I find it fun. 4 months in, I just earned around $40 this month. However, I am quite sure in the next 3-4 months I will be nearing the $100 mark (if things keep increasing as they are).
One thing I will say (sorry, it contradicts a little of your advice) is to answer any questions you can. People search with spelling mistakes and although bot questions don't award, you should find that all your money will come from unawarded questions. Those open questions really pay! Also, old questions may have been missed, as many questions get posted. If you answer these, it brings them to the front page and will earn your views.
Hope you enjoy it there, there are many great questions and it is quite easy to make some extra money. I started to notice steady earnings from about 180-300 posts, then it has just increased steadily from there.
Wow! This is a fantastic piece. I ve used webanswers before, answered a couple of questions but don't seem impressed. Great work anyway. Voted useful, interesting and awesome.
Interesting Topic :)
up and funny! Great job, and good information. Love this dialogue...
Very interesting. I might have to check that out. Thank you.
I actually make a few dollars on the site each month. Seems legit, but how revenue sharing is done isn't explained very well.
Thanks for the review about Webanswers. Your the second hub I've read this weekend that is talking about this site. So far, you both like it.
Great post...nice
Thanks for this Hub, and I will look into this. I am like you. Other than for noise when I write, there's nothing for me on TV. I don't care to watch fluff, and I don't like the morning gabfests. Good point!
I have been a member of this site for a few months and I love it but I answer all questions including bots and old ones. Why would you not want to answer those questions? Most income that people generate are from non awarded answers.
I am a member of webanswers.com, molometer. I have been awarded a fairly high percentage of "best answers" for the questions I've responded to. I think it is great fun and can be very thought-provoking. It is less time-consuming, for the most part, than most of the paying websites. I pop on and off the site between other online endeavors, peruse the questions and often find one or two that peaks my interest or experience that I answer. Like many of the websites, the "quality" factor is a bit mysterious to me, but I always strive to give my best, keeping in mind, that cyberspace is forever. One of the online websites that sends me a monthly "writing tips" email, paid me to write an article on webanswers geared toward those contemplating joining! So, I'd say webanswers has been "bery, bery good to me".
I am retired, molometer, but I don't know if I could venture out on this idea and answer all of these questions. I do try to balance my time in retirement. Although I do like writing, I try not to spend my days in front of my laptop's screen. Nothing gets done if I do. I become a hermit. Yes, retirement gives a person plenty of time, but that time is just as valuable than the person who is working. In retirement, the time is YOURS. Voted up and interesting. Bookmarked.
What a clever and well put together hub! I will be checking this out! Voted up and awesome, useful and interesting!!
